Albuquerque: the Perfect Testing Ground

We chose to expand our on-road testing efforts to New Mexico and establish a test center in Albuquerque because they are the perfect testing grounds for self-driving trucks. Together, we are working to make the roads safer.

"Our Torc branch in Albuquerque is great! Our city has so much to offer with our delicious New Mexican food (do you prefer green chile or red? Or Christmas?!). There’s also amazing weather with 300+ days of beautiful sunshine which allows us to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping right next to the beautiful Sandia mountains."

Testing in Albuquerque

Albuquerque recognizes Torc as a leader in emerging technology and is pleased to provide the bedrock as we advance the unique field of autonomous driving. This area hosts a high-freight volume and is home to two major trucking routes referred to as the “Big-I.” The interchange between 1-25 and 1-40 was awarded excellence in highway design and is one reason Albuquerque enjoys little traffic, despite being one of the nation’s most traveled areas.

This environment offers an ideal location for us to build and test our vehicles. We will utilize these routes in this integral part of the long-haul trucking industry as you help us take trucking to the next level.
