Humans can be unpredictable. Our self-driving car is designed to predictably handle the unpredictable. Our system features pedestrian detection and classification to allow it to predict pedestrian-specific movement and provide a safe distance for people around the car.

In this video, a person crosses multiple lanes of traffic outside of a crosswalk, including the lane in front of the Torc car. The Torc self-driving car detects the pedestrian and slows down until the person is completely outside of the car’s lane of travel.

We’re showcasing the capabilities of our autonomous car system on real public roads with real scenarios the car has encountered. To get updates on the latest videos, check back on our blog or subscribe to our YouTube channel.
