Torc Robotics opened its Austin location on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Members of the local Chamber of Commerce were in attendance, along with Austin press.

“Our Austin office will help shape the future of freight, which must include autonomous trucks, ultimately helping make roadways safer for everyone. It will relieve a truck driver shortage of nearly 70,000 that we are experiencing in our country.  This shortage contributes to supply chain issues and shortages in goods and services. Torc’s Austin office will be part of our solutions-oriented approach to help bridge the gap of demand and driver bandwidth,” said Torc CEO Michael Fleming.

“As we’ve grown, we knew we needed to find strategic locations. We need a wealth of talent close by and a vibrant, inviting community where our team members can put down roots.  We determined there’s no better place to be than Austin,” said Marnie Young, Torc CPO. “We’re excited to announce this office will create more than 50 new jobs in Austin this year, with capacity to grow to 140, and generate millions in additional economic activity.”
