Our Product Development Powerhouse

Torc is right at home in the “Drive Friendly” state of Texas, and what location could be better than the thriving technology hub of Austin? Austin is a technology hotspot with a moderate climate that rivals Silicon Valley and has a considerably more affordable cost of living and a commute time below the national average. Austin has been named one of the best cities for STEM professionals by Wallethub. These features have attracted an educated and diverse population.

Wide-Open Spaces

Our 21,000-square-foot Austin office serves as a product development hub – with an emphasis on engineering – that complements our Blacksburg, VA headquarters and Albuquerque, NM test center. The area features highways vital to America’s supply chain known as the “Texas Triangle.” Texas offers a welcoming business climate and a Department of Transportation that recognizes Torc’s mission of making highways safer and keeping goods moving.

The “Live Music Capital of the World” offers listening options in all genres, and it is not unusual to find 100+ live performances to choose from in a single evening! Austin is home to dozens of museums, vibrant galleries, theatres and many talented artists who call Austin home.

Foodies will enjoy numerous restaurants, food festivals, and over 20 Farmer’s Markets! If you prefer to spend time in nature, Austin has you covered. Lady Bird Lake flows through the city, offering paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing. Austin is ranked among the top 20 bike-friendly American cities by Bicycling Magazine and top 10 Fittest City by Forbes due to its many parks and green spaces that invite outdoor activity.

For these reasons and more, Torc is happy to call Austin home.
