partnerships
We understand the extent to which our lives are dependent on freight movement. That is why we’re developing autonomous technology. But we aren’t doing it alone.
Partners In Technology
Daimler Truck
In 2019, Torc and Daimler Truck created an extraordinary relationship with the goal of helping improve road safety and deliver goods more efficiently.
Daimler Truck has been at the forefront of trucking innovation for over a century – from the first truck to driver-assist technology.
It’s a unique partnership with a trucking leader and one of the most experienced providers of autonomous vehicle software.
Aeva
Aeva supplies Aeva Atlas™ automotive grade 4D LiDAR technology to enable SAE Level 4 autonomous vehicle capabilities on the Class 8 Freightliner Cascadia truck platform.
INDUSTRY PARTNERS
Schneider
As one of Torc’s partners, Schneider provides freight loads for Torc’s pilot operations and unique insights on truckload freight that will help guide the development and ongoing commercialization of autonomous trucks for long-haul applications.
C.R. England
Through our pilot with C.R. England, we provide select customers with temperature-controlled capacity and world-class service. Working together, we’re able to improve long-haul trucking safety for one of the premium service providers and largest refrigerated carriers in the nation.
ASSOCIATIONS
PAVE
PAVE is a coalition of industry partners and nonprofit groups with one goal: to bring the conversation about automated vehicles (AVs) to the public so everyone can play a role in shaping our transportation future. PAVE’s mission is purely educational—they don’t advocate for a particular technology or specific public policies. PAVE members believe that we will best achieve the potential benefits of driverless technology if the public and policymakers know the honest facts of what is on the roads today and what is possible for the future.
As a proud part of PAVE, Torc plays a key role in the greater conversation about autonomous trucking. Alongside our fellow members in the self-driving car and truck industry, we shape standardized terms for the various components of our technology, identify consumer pain points, and more.
SAE – Automated Vehicle Safety Consortium
The Automated Vehicle Safety Consortium is an industry program of SAE Industry Technologies Consortia. Comprised of engineering and technology company members in the automated vehicle space who bring decades of experience launching safe, innovative mobility technologies, the consortium is working to advance safer testing, development, and deployment of automated vehicles.
“It’s no secret that collaboration is paramount in the commercialization of autonomous trucks,” commented Michelle Chaka, our Senior Vice President, Safety and Regulatory, when Torc joined the consortium. “The AVSC has played – and will continue to play – a crucial role in driving industry collaboration to help ensure the safe testing and deployment of AVs, and Torc is happy to join forces with an organization dedicated to advancing safety across the entire autonomous industry.”
